A few days ago, my mom surprised me with a fantastic gift. For several years I have wanted to find a Christmastime/Winter deck… she gave me one on Thanksgiving. “I know you have a lot of readings this time of year and I wanted you to have something seasonally appropriate!”
I have spent several hours getting used to this beautiful new deck…
Season of the Witch: Yule Oracle.
The authors are Lorriane Anderson and Juliet Diaz, and the accompanying guidebook is so encouraging and intentional. The illustrator, Giada Rose, did an incredible job capturing the feel of the season, and somehow helps us slip into a dreamy, restful and healing state… which is really what winter is about.
The images are absolutely stunning, some of them even haunting, but all just feel right — if that makes sense. The deck itself has a metallic emerald gloss on each card that gives off a beautiful green glow when the cards are stacked.

So, without any further ado, here is the card pulled for today!
Crone
#8
Keywords: wisdom, lessons, honor
Mantra: Thy wisdom befriends the honor in which weaves within blood. A heroing call from the depths of your sacredness.
Meaning:
The wisest among us are the ones who’ve lived and experienced life over many years. They are the ones who know where to look and how to see past illusions. They are the ones who greet us with warm eyes and tight hugs, who we know will love us no matter our faults. If you have a wise crone of a woman in your life, hold on to them dearly for they have wisdom far beyond your years.
Pulling Crone is a sign to seek guidance from someone more experienced. Your situation may need another party to act as a mediator or to help you to see things from an unbiased point of view. It is likely to be a woman or someone with a womanly quality who will help you. This person can be a family member but may also be someone who is not related but feels like a mother, grandmother or sister. Just remember, wisdom deserves respect and humility. When seeking knowledge be willing to consider you’re seeking help because you do not know all of the answers.
